Our client in the manufacturing industry based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Tig Welder.? Requirements:Education and Training: Trade qualified TIG welder with Several years of welding experienceTechnical Skill: Able to operate gas and non-gas welding device in carrying out welding dutiesMeasurement Skill: Proficient in using various measurement tools to establish the configuration or position of a welding planProblem-solving Skill: Assess metal structures to identify and initiate repair of damaged weldsPre-employment tests will be required.? Duties:Oversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment required for TIG weldingMeasure and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, and calipersFill ducts with water/air and submerge in water to identify pipe leakageEnsure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulationsCarry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal partsOversee the set-up of TIG welding equipmentOperate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapersMaintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steelRead and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codesCarry out preventative maintenance and repairsEnsure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirementsOversee the training and mentoring of new and trainee TIG weldersConduct tests to verify the quality of weld.?
