Planning Expertise: Proven ability to plan and coordinate lifting operations, including load calculations and equipment selection. Safety Focus: Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessments, and compliance procedures. Communication Skills: Fluent in English and/or Afrikaans with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities. Technical Proficiency: Computer literacy is essential. Mobility: Valid drivers license and access to reliable transport. Availability: Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required. Key Responsibilities In this critical role, youll be responsible for: Identifying workplace hazards and implementing solutions to mitigate risks. Supervising and coordinating rigging teams to ensure all activities are carried out safely and efficiently. Planning and overseeing the setup and operation of rigging systems for heavy equipment and materials. Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Conducting risk assessments and enforcing the use of appropriate PPE and safety measures. Inspecting and maintaining rigging equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance with standards. Providing training and mentorship to rigging crews, promoting safe and effective rigging practices. Collaborating with site supervisors and project managers to align rigging tasks with overall construction timelines. Managing lifting plans, including load calculations and proper equipment selection for heavy materials. Monitoring progress, addressing any issues, and ensuring timely completion of rigging activities. Maintaining detailed records of rigging inspections, maintenance, and daily work logs. Ensuring all rigging equipment and lifting devices are properly stored and secured when not in use.
