Introduction Join Cape Racing a Terminal Operator/ Second in Command – Be Part of Our Exciting Journey! We are looking to hire a reliable and resourceful Terminal Operator/ Second In Command (2IC) to provide support to our customers and Terminal Operators within our outlet in our Ceres outlet. As Terminal Operator/ Second in Command, you will maintain high levels of customer service in our Ceres outlet to ensure it meets operational standards. The Terminal Operator/ Second In Command (2IC) will report to the Area Manager. What You’ll Do Operating Duties Take bets from customers Print betting information for customers Gather required information on winnings Attend to customer queries Attend to slot payouts Payout, cancel or deposit winnings Check float Balance cash on hand Relief Supervisory Duties Supervise Terminal Operators to ensure service levels are maintained Open up procedure Terminal Operator reconciliation and balancing Update information boards Conduct checks on the floor Conduct check on Terminal Operator cash Assistant with People Development Assist with the completion of departmental job descriptions Assist with the completion of personal development plans for all team members Assist with the work performance and performance appraisals of all team members Assist with departmental training interventions Assist with attendance and absenteeism Assist with leave management for all team members What You’ll Need High school education or equivalent, Grade 12 (required) A general management certificate at a NQF level 5 or equivalent (advantageous) What We’re Looking For At least two (2) years’ experience as a Terminal Operator/ similar role is required An understanding of the betting industry (preferred) An energetic individual who is able to understand and follow instructions. Clear criminal record. Clear credit record. A meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills. A proactive problem-solver who thrives under pressure and takes initiative. Knowledge of the sports, culture and lifestyle sector. An inquisitive mind that can manage projects from inception. Someone who values discretion, understands the importance of confidentiality, honesty and reliability. Flexible with the adaptability to multitask.
