SOCIAL WORKER FOR CHILD AND YOUTH CARE CENTRE IN HARRISMITH

Please only apply if you are local to the area. A Bachelors Degree in Social Work Mature person Registered with the SACSSP Available as soon as possible. Extensive work experience in child protection services, the Children's Act, Statutory work and as a Child and Youth Care Centre Social Worker. Passion for working with children Computer literacy Strong administrative skills Fluent in English and Afrikaans. Sesotho would be an advantage. Strong work ethic Residing in, or be prepared to relocate to the Harrismith area Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a manual vehicle DSD clearance certificate – Form 29 At least two years extensive demonstrated experience in working with young people in crisis, especially traumatised children, and/or living in an out of home care situation. Possess the required knowledge, skills, attitude and strategies to be able to work effectively with traumatised children who display challenging behaviour. Prioritise, the ability to work both independently and as an active team member Work under pressure and have high levels of emotional intelligence. Ability to maintain professional demeanour while exercising judgment, discretion and discipline in work. Must be on-call for emergencies. Scope of work: To be forwarded to applicants.
