An on grid system, which uses the mains to maintain a full charge on a battery and supplies power to the load when load shedding occurs.
The system monitors the mains, and maintains the energy in a lead acid battery, ready for when a power failure occurs. When the power failure is detected, a modified sine wave inverter switches on, and using the energy stored in a battery, supplies the load with power.
The low cost modified sine wave is suitable for most loads, except for electric motors. Typical loads are CFLs, LED lighting, TVs radios and cell phone chargers.
The system has a built in lead acid battery charger and electronics that monitors the battery when the inverter is running, and when the battery reaches a critical discharged state, the electronics will switch the inverter off to safeguard the battery. The next time that the mains power returns, the battery will then be charged from the mains supply.
