Following the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's Principle of making drama affordable and accessible for all, the Helen O'Grady's studio in Bonteheuwel has been running successfully for many years. Drama classes are held at the Bonteheuwel Library on Tuesday afternoons. Classes are taught in different age groups at different times: 5-8 years, 9-12 years and 13-18 years. The Academy follows an international programme used throughout the world including the USA, UK, and Australia. The Academy is the largest drama school in Cape Town with over 2500 children attending each week. Drama classes are AFFORDABLE and ACCESSIBLE to most people and such is the nature of the programme that it is used by many schools around Cape Town as their in-school curriculum.
