REQUIREMENTS: Education: Wiremans Licence (Optional) Electrician / Millwright Trade Certificate N3 Job Experience & Skills Required: 3 - 5 years’ experience as a technician. Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand and power tools and testing equipment. Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus and components using testing equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problems. Connect wires to circuit breaks, transformers, or other components. Inspect equipment and components for defects and the need for adjustment or repairs. Plan installation of electrical equipment on fixtures, based on job specifications. Direct and train workers to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring equipment and fixtures. Use of variety of tools and testing equipment. Read technical diagrams and blueprints. Perform physical demanding tasks such as laying conduits and moving and lifting heavy equipment. You are responsible for executing both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks, troubleshooting complex faults, and contributing to improvement projects. Your work spans across electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, and mechanical components. Your Responsibilities: As an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, your tasks will include: Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of production installations Troubleshooting complex issues in electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems Collaborating with production, engineering, and safety departments Logging and reporting activities in SAP or similar systems Supervising external contractors and ensuring work is carried out safely Participating in improvement teams to reduce downtime and increase reliability Supporting upgrades, modifications, and new installations You should have: Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) as an Electrician or Instrumentation Mechanician Experience in a manufacturing or process environment (5 years minimum) Valid Wiremans License is an advantage Knowledge of PLC/SCADA (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell) and DCS systems is a plus Affinity with high-voltage systems (up to 10kV) and basic mechanical insight Familiarity with ERP systems (such as SAP) Valid safety certifications
