Ultrafiltration (UF) filtrates in the 0.01-micron range. The element comprises of hollow fibers of membrane material. UF can be used as pretreatment for reverse osmosis systems or as a final filtration stage for deionized water. It is an excellent purification method in areas where the TDS is low or in drought-stricken areas, as it produces no waste.
