Sheepskin is tanned with non-allergenic process free of chroom (FOC) and provide a therapeutic value that reduces friction and moisture, the primary causes of pressure sores. Wool fibres can absorb up to one-third of their dry weight in moisture without feeling damp, thus rapidly dissipating moisture away from the source. This help alleviates discomfort to immobile patients from perspiration and reduces moisture build-up at the pressure points. In hot weather, wool absorbs moisture which is then released into the air and providing a drying effect. In cold weather, wool is a natural insulator that helps keep you warm and cosy. Wool fibres create air pockets that ensure excellent thermal isolation from both heat and cold. Ability to absorb and evaporate moisture.
