Script analysis actors

Directors look for specific aspects when directing actors. Throughout all my years being in the industry (27yrs) I have come up with a course which caters to those aspects directors are looking for. I have had numerous successes with this course and my students upon completion always go from strength to strength. Course Outline: Use of voice - warming up your voice; How to go to a casting - Preparation for a casting; Translate preparation into an on camera performance; Handling the call back and meeting the client. Tools of acting - business; status levels, listing skills, acting vs. Reacting, Character building - Different ways to approach characterization; Exercises aimed at physical and vocal transformation, including a detailed look at mannerisms, speech patterns, posture, gesture and clothing. Monologues/Duologues - How to analyze a scene using the following tools: Overall Objective; Scene Objective, Obstacles; Beats and Actions; Place and Fourth Wall; Inner Objects and Doings. Textual analysis - Modulation; Improvisation – Structured and Unstructured - as a vehicle for harnessing the power of the imagination, being spontaneous and collaborating with fellow actors. Memorizing of lines and blocking. The basics of acting technique, including finding motivation and uncovering subtext; Stanislavski techniques. One of my students after completing this course was featured on the Pharrell Williams "Happy" music video. He continues to get work and shine! The job of a voice-over artist is to make the voices jump off the page. This course introduces you to various voice-over scripts which present different demands. It is important that you identify the various voice-over scripts in order to approach them in a creative and intelligent manner, which satisfies the needs of the client. You will need training and coaching to learn how to use your voice. Even if you're blessed with a silky smooth voice, you'll need to learn how to use your voice and how to deliver as wide a range of vocal styles as possible. Can you be serious? Whimsical? Can you do accents or dialects? Character voices? Can you raise your performance to another level? The more versatile you are, the more jobs you'll get. Your voice is your instrument and coaching will help you learn to play your instrument.
