They are similar in design to Shiraz, Qashqai, and Khamseh rugs, although they usually have brighter colors than most Persian rugs. Yalameh rugs have a unique and very recognizable latch-hooked diamond medallion like the one pictured below. These medallions are typically arranged in a single vertical row. They are usually woven with wool on a cotton foundation, but may also have wool foundations. They are finely woven with Turkish Knots and have short piles. These rugs come in a variety of sizes, and are perfect for tribal decor.
