Our client in the retail sector is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team based in Vryburg Buyer Responsibilities:-Writing, placing and tracking purchase orders.- Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price.- Negotiating with vendors and building positive, long-term relationships.- Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to management.- Preparing competitive retail and pricing strategies.- Planning, monitoring and maintaining suitable inventory levels.- Preparing budgets and forecasting purchasing trends.- Compiling reports on product performance and statisticBuyer Minimum Requirements:- Matric and a relevant degree/diploma in procurement.- Previous experience in the merchandising or FMCG/retail industry is a non-negotiable.- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.- Strong analytical and organizational skills.- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.- Experience with merchandising software systems is a plus.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Key performance areas: Full Bookkeeping (i.e., processing) of all DMO Group Entities up to Trial Balance. Strong Xero and accounting knowledge required. Preparation of monthly management accounts for all entities. Processing of wage information from farms to HR department. Loading of creditor payments (there will be a dual release system). Correlation of cattle loads sent from farm to abattoir. Assistance to owners with monthly farm livestock counts. Assistance with reconciliation of livestock counts. Reconciliation of monthly diesel usage. Control of vehicle licensing and logbooks for all farms. Assistance with group purchasing (e.g. staff clothing order for boots & overalls, etc.). Channeling of all DMO related emails from source to Dave and responding accordingly. Ad hoc tasks and administrative assistance as required by Dave/Antoinette. HR Admin assistance.
