Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 certificate or relevant NQF level 4 qualification Mechanical Trade Test Certificate Minimum 5 years’ work experience in skilled trades in the mining / blasting industry Experience in or knowledge of the blasting industry an advantage Experience in a Concentrator Plant will be advantageous Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Planner Advance Computer skills required with high attention to detail, logic and numeracy Computerized Maintenance Management System Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) Computerised Maintenance Management System Microsoft Project Management Software Skills Must have relevant Planned Maintenance training Ability to Conduct Root Cause Failure analysis Strong Communication Skills Ability to multi-task Organizational and Time Management Skills A valid driver’s license and a medical certificate of fitness required Some level of Supervisory experience Must be fit to undergo and pass a medical examination which must include an eye sight, depth perception and hearing test Duties & Responsibilities: To initiate, populate, manage and maintain master data relating to planned preventative maintenance using the Sage System To improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access Effective operation of business area Planned Maintenance Programme Schedule maintenance for equipment to agreed standards, in agreement with line management Monitor maintenance feedback from business area for conformance to plan and ability to highlight important variances to management Assist with all administrative related tasks Continuously issuing of PM orders timeously to Foreman per site Continuously liaise with the relevant Foreman on planned maintenance activities and resources Assist with planning and scheduling of major maintenance related stoppages Determine the priority of work planned in backlog and allocate resources together with the responsible Line Manager Identify opportunities to improve operations by analyzing maintenance and trends Prepare performance reports Maintain data base of maintenance related work instructions and procedures Ensure that the system is maintained and updated as changes to equipment are made or newly installed equipment Knowledge of the principles and concepts of maintenance work Maintain the stores (receiving and dispatches of stock to site) Processing of orders on sage according to procedure and within specified timeframe

Job Description: Machine maintenance as per provided schedules. (Performs PM's, cleans and lubricates injection moulding machines and equipment) Troubleshooting, repair and improvement of complex plastics processing and ancillary equipment. Will be required to perform root cause analysis, practical development and implement solutions to increase equipment reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness. Visually inspects and solves problems in machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. Measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation Documents repairs and maintenance of manufacturing machinery Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned Potential duties may also include fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general carpentry or plumbing Participates in the implementation of various improvement projects Performs installation of new equipment and or relocation of equipment Job Requirements: Red seal qualification at a reputable institution. Minimum of 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics systems Experience with Plastic injection moulding, extrusion and/or thermoforming Understanding of the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives Familiarity with the operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming Ability to safely trace electrical circuits with a multi-meter and wiring schematic to find faulty components Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams Ability to perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Proficiency with using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties Compliance with safety regulations and maintenance of clean and orderly work areas Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good at SECTOR: Automotive

To perform a wide range of duties relating to the mechanical installation, repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment and fixtures to ensure their efficient operation at minimum downtime complying with EHS Guidelines with a focus on continuous improvement. Tackles all mechanical equipment breakdowns and planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision within the given time constraint minimising production downtime. Technically assesses the requirement of allocated jobs and selects the necessary tools and equipment to complete the work. Ensures that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the safety procedures and plant operational requirements. Using the computerised maintenance system (SAP), orders the spare parts from warehouse and maintains records of all maintenance work completed. Monitors any repeated breakdown and recommends/completes proper modification to resolve the problem. Identifies and reports any abnormalities. Initiates repairs/replacements/tests/ assembles worn out or failed components/parts. Reports to supervisor and takes necessary action to overhaul/replace parts, leaving the working area clean. Performs various works related to welding and fabrication. Mentors newly joined mechanics in order to equip them with the plant & equipment knowledge necessary to carry out maintenance work. Continuously works towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in all BE activities like Suggestion Scheme, 5S, Hazard Reporting, TAMAHAL/PEER, etc. Assists other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment. Inputs data into maintenance management systems for works and manning records. Fulfil day / shift duties with a team of Technicians / Craftsmen / Contractors as assigned by Supervisor. Performs all the PM’S, running inspections & checklists on daily basis issued as per maintenance planning requirements. Perform other related duties as communicated by supervisor/technician.
