Mountain Rock Cottage is situated in Barberton which is nestled in the heart of the Makhonjwa Mountainlands in the De Kaap Valley; one of the oldest regions and the core of a proposed World Heritage Site. The establishment is within 30 minutes drive to the Kruger Park, Malelane gate and 1 hours drive to the Mozambican border, Rusano Garcia border post. Mountain Rock Cottage has a main bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, the second bedroom has a single bed. The loft area has 2 three quarter beds and a single bed. All rooms have built-in cupboards and linen. There is a boma equipped with a braai and fireplace. The children’s playground is close to the boma area and can be utilised by children on own risk. There is also a cold outside shower to cool down on those hot days. There are many activities to be enjoyed within the area such as some great birdwatching opportunities, self-drive 4x4 routes, hiking, fishing and mountain biking. Bo-Kloof offers a cottage, a guest house and seven beautiful spots for camping. Kolgans Cottage is a beautifully situated wooden cottage, sleeping a maximum of four people. The guest house offers beds for up to 6 people. One bedroom has a double and two single beds, the second room has two single beds and also serves as kitchen. Linen and towels are provided. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. The kitchen is equipped with a two-plate stove and oven, a microwave, a fridge-freezer and cutlery and crockery. Dinner and breakfast is available for those who prefer not to self-cater. The campsite is about 1.5 km from the guest house. The shared ablution block consists of four flush toilets and two hot water showers. Electricity is available in the ablution block, but not at the stands. Guests should bring their own extension cords. Seven stands are available, with three of the stands big enough to cater for groups with two to four vehicles and tents. We try not to have more than 40 people in the campsite at one time. Depending on the amount of rainfall, a pond is nearby for swimming. Activities in and around Bo-Kloof include horse riding, hiking or mountain biking and birdwatching. Enjoy the 8 km 4x4 route that will take you to the top of the southern mountain range. Rock climbing enthusiasts can get their permits from Bo-Kloof reception and enjoy Waterkloof. This hike is easily accessible and can take one and a half hours to complete, although you would want to spend your day there.
