In 1848, the 23-years old Louis Brandt established a workshop for building watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In 1879 his two sons expanded the workshop into a factory. The calibre "labrador", having a daily divergency of less than 30 seconds, was developed in 1885 and in 1892 the first watch with minute repetition that strikes hours, quarters and minutes by pressing a trigger was brought onto the market. In the Olympic Games in 1932 Omega served as an official timekeeper for the first time.
