Requirements: • Grade 12 or technical equivalent. • 3-5yrs Refrigeration and electrical experience essential particularly in fault finding and problem solving. • Excellent Knowledge of Central HVAC Plant & Chillers required. • Valid Drivers License with own car • Good working knowledge of General Machinery Regulations. Responsibility: o Routine maintenance and servicing on various client sites o Manage effective systems to control time, cost and quality. o Customer feedback, reporting, estimate, quote and follow up of items identified during servicing. o Responsible for all routine service supervision of HVAC plant and equipment. o Routine checks conducted on site of services. o Maintain and determine warranty service requirements from contracts department. o Ensure compliance to all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment. o Implement and Develop ISO 9001 principles and ensure conformance to the company Quality Management System. We are a registered Pty (Ltd) company and have a 12 ton refrigeration / freezer truck as part of our perishable cargo logistic service for the transport of meat, fish, fresh produce or any other perishable product requirements. The refrigeration / freezer truck is fitted with a THERMO KING temperature control unit that can adjust the temperature from refrigeration to freezing, below zero. The truck also has an electrical plug in point to provide electrical power to the refrigeration / freezer unit, while standing idle to keep the regulated temperature required. The truck is fitted with meat rails with hooks and can carry several carcases of meat, ie whole lambs, pigs, etc. In addition, we have a 8 ton crane truck for general cargo operations and for any other crane services required. The Mercedes-Benz truck is fitted with a long range fuel tank, for long distance operations in remote areas, with a 5 ton hydraulic crane for offloading capabilities. Job Description HVAC Technician Responsibilities  Must be able to fix 9-24,000 BTU air-conditioners within small patch rooms.  Must be able to re-gas units.  Must be able to service HVAC units as per above.  Installation, Maintenance and Repair:  Install refrigeration equipment and systems.  Inspect systems and their components to ensure safety and identify necessary repairs and to provide an ongoing programme of preventive maintenance.  Diagnose problems and/or failures in refrigeration systems to identify equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs.  Perform routine and preventive maintenance as needed and/or assigned to ensure the ongoing functioning of refrigeration systems.  Test components using electrical, mechanical test equipment.  Charge and leak test the refrigerant charged systems.  Perform pre-start up checks on equipment and adjust as necessary.  Lay-out and install reference points for determining equipment location.
