Backstage Actor: Minus a Frontstage Life: Champ Payne   Turning our dreams into our lives is our strongest desire, but what do we do instead? We hold ourselves back and settle for comfort. We’ve been cast as the lead actors, the Frontstage actors, in the story of our lives, but deep on the back of the stage we portray roles we’ve not been cast for. If you, for whatever reason, are making a conscious choice to live far below your creative capabilities, and are not living, or moving towards, the life of your dreams, then you’re a Backstage Actor. Backstage Actors may live nice lives but not the authentic and creative lives they’ve always dreamed of living- they’re not living Frontstage lives, and that’s the problem. In ‘Backstage Actor: Minus a Frontstage Life’ the author presents 50 Life Hacks to help dreamers like you turn your wildly creative dreams into your life. He draws from personal experience to challenge you to escape from the patterns of thought and behaviour that have all but tamed and crippled you. It’s a challenge to dream bigger dreams and to write an authentic and creative life story.

It reminded me why I cherish slow living in southern Europe' (Taiye Selasi, Guardian) Chosen as Book of the Year by Random Jottings Made redundant from her job, Kamin Mohammadi flees the bleak streets of London for a friend's sun-dappled apartment in Florence. There, among the cobbled streets, the bustling, vibrant markets and the majestic palazzos, she finds a new lease of life, and a new way to live it. At once lyrical and practical, Bella Figura shows us how to make every aspect of life as beautiful as it can be. From how to choose the perfectly ripe tomato to how to walk down the street in style, Kamin Mohammadi explores the intricate nuances of Italian culture, and sets down a simple guide to a better, more elegant - and ultimately more satisfying - life. I celebrated my life spent on earth few days ago and upon reflection I realise just how many of us adults carry wounded children within us. Our responsibilities and everything else that we do to keep busy has covered up our childhood trauma and as a result we are blind to our childhood trauma and because we cannot touch it, we simply cannot see it. The levels of childhood trauma are different from person to person and it is the subtle trauma in the forms of struggling with fitting in with our peer groups, parental neglect or even abandonment were we tend to miss it! We are more open to recognising and calling out trauma once it's reached severe levels such as (obvious) abuse. As adults, we cannot take away the fact that we were once children at one time of our lives and just because we have grown older it doesn’t mean the children within us vanish. It is in adulthood were we should awaken our inner child from the unconscious parts of us. ✅We should (seek to) be proactive in fostering better and healthier relationships with ourselves and our 'past' so as to set free that which has been suppressed and respond to situations or challenges from a place of LOVE especially were our own children are concerned. -My birthday wish is to create safe environments for partnering, trust and connectedness which is what I have found to be the missing link with most parents who wish to stop power struggles and parent differently from how they were raised. - I have reserved your share of the cup cake --Follow on Instagram / Facebook @ Conscious_Thoko: - For safe environments for ourselves as parents and for our children to thrive! It is ordered on demand from our supplier and is usually dispatched within 7 - 11 working days Why our brains aren't built for media multitasking, and how we can learn to live with technology in a more balanced way. "Brilliant and practical, just what we need in these techno-human times."-Jack Kornfield, author of The Wise Heart Most of us will freely admit that we are obsessed with our devices. We pride ourselves on our ability to multitask-read work email, reply to a text, check Facebook, watch a video clip. Talk on the phone, send a text, drive a car. Enjoy family dinner with a glowing smartphone next to our plates. We can do it all, 24/7! Never mind the errors in the email, the near-miss on the road, and the unheard conversation at the table. In The Distracted Mind, Adam Gazzaley and Larry Rosen-a neuroscientist and a psychologist-explain why our brains aren't built for multitasking, and suggest better ways to live in a high-tech world without giving up our modern technology. The authors explain that our brains are limited in their ability to pay attention. We don't really multitask but rather switch rapidly between tasks. Distractions and interruptions, often technology-related-referred to by the authors as "interference"-collide with our goal-setting abilities. We want to finish this paper/spreadsheet/sentence, but our phone signals an incoming message and we drop everything. Even without an alert, we decide that we "must" check in on social media immediately. Gazzaley and Rosen offer practical strategies, backed by science, to fight distraction. We can change our brains with meditation, video games, and physical exercise; we can change our behavior by planning our accessibility and recognizing our anxiety about being out of touch even briefly. They don't suggest that we give up our devices, but that we use them in a more balanced way.
