We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic Technician with automotive and generator experience. The position requires a qualified Diesel Mechanic who is able to achieve and persistently maintain high standards of workmanship and competence in performing tasks associated with preventative maintenance checks and general maintenance whilst maintaining high standards of Operational serviceability of Generators. Positions are available in Port Elizabeth and Cape Town Duties & Responsibilities Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on motor vehicles and Generators (Mobile and Static Generators - 10KVA to 40KVA). Inspect brake systems, engines, etc Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts. Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components. Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment. Test-generators to ensure that they run smoothly. Keeps track of the maintenance work on the vehicles and generators by completing job cards. Repair parts and equipment when needed Minimum Qualifications required: Must be a qualified Diesel Mechanic Diagnose mechanical difficulties. Use specialised tools and equipment in performing vehicle maintenance, servicing & repair. Establish and maintain accurate records. Work cooperatively and effectively with others. Perform heavy manual labour within established Health & Safety practices Also have the knowledge of: Health & Safety regulations and procedures Proper use of all specialised and associated equipment to include familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welders, grinders, air and hydraulic jacks, tire repair equipment, etc. Methods used in a programme of preventative maintenance and general maintenance. Record-keeping techniques. Microsoft Office Literate Experience: Must have at least five years experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
