You have come to the right place because the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy: www.dramaafrica.com has been running a highly successful studio at the Goodwood Library on Thursday afternoons. Using expert teachers and fantastic inspired international curriculum, the Academy takes children to the next level in their personal development. Classes are highly educational and are offered in the following age-groups: 5-8 years, 9-12 years, and 13-18 years. Children can start with the drama school at Age 5 and they will never repeat a lesson when they leave at 18. It is increasingly important in our fast-moving world to speak confidently and clearly and the programme ensures that children quickly gain the necessary life-skills. The world-renowned performance arts course also develops fantastic actors and the Academy's children regularly appear in film, television and on the radio. The Curriculum focuses on speech, movement and improvisational skills and the Academy develops creative thinkers. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs its drama school at the Methodist Church Hall on Brenda Road in Plumstead on Wednesday afternoons in three age-groups: Lower Primary, Upper Primary and Youth Theatre. Students attend from the surrounding areas including Wynberg, Constantia, Tokai, Bergvliet and Southfield. The programme follows that Academy's international drama course to develop confidence, self-esteem, communication and performance skills. Teachers are vibrant, positive and all fully trained in the Helen O'Grady method. Many students join the Academy's casting agency to gain further exposure in film, theatre and radio. The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy's curriculum is highly popular in Rondebosch. Classes are held at St Thomas' Church Hall next to the entrance to Bishops School. Many students have been with the Academy many years as classes go from age 5 and children never repeat a lesson. Children follow and international programme that has been in operation now for over 30 years of experience. Teachers expert in the field of drama and fully trained by the Academy. Regular training days ensure the the curriculum is inspired and that children are motivated in a positive learning environment. Parents Days and Productions give parents the opportunity to see their child's development. The Academy has an open door policy and parents are free to chat to the teacher at any time about their child's particular needs. There is a casting agency attached to the Academy so that those who wish to take their talent further have an outlet.

The Helen O'Grady Drama Academy runs its famous international programme at the Scout Hall (which is opposite the Edge Church) in Edgemead. The classes are held every Monday afternoon. The Academy develops confidence, self-esteem, communication skills and performance skills. The Academy is the largest drama school in Cape Town with over 2500 children attending classes each week and operates in many schools using the acclaimed drama course. Whilst many children attend the classes to have a lot of fun, there is also many opportunities for the students to act in film, theatre and television through its casting agency.
