WE ARE LOOKING FOR: • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance on a production plant, ideally petrochemical; • Minimum High School certificate grade 12; • Trade papers in the electrical field; • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment; • Awareness of OSH Act, and local electrical codes and regulations; • An open-minded and positive character; • Ability to work independently and in a group; • Strong verbal and written communication skills; • Motivated self- starter who can manage projects and make decisions; • Ability to read schematics, drawings and other technical documents; • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling etc. • Availability for standby or work within extended hours. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL: • Assemble, install, repair and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools; • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem; • Monitor and inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes; • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, to ensure compatibility and safety of system; • Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes; • Make decisions based on technical documents; • Perform quality testing. My client provides engineering services to one of the world's largest international oil and gas companies. They are currently seeking to employ a Master Electrician / Instrumentation Technician to be based at their plant in the northern Mariane Islands on a year contract. Housing and flights will be provided by the company. Duties and Responsibilities This dual Electrical / Instrument Technician is an integral role responsible for maintaining assets to ensure safe, sustainable and reliable performance in line with best practice. Will be utilizing fault finding and inspection skills on preventative and break down maintenance with fixed plant equipment. General electrical service, maintenance, and installations Performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspection, and testing of client systems. Communicating with customers upon arrival and before leaving work sites. Meeting with customers to review assignments and analyze problems Involvement in challenging projects Read and interpret an electrical drawings Quoting small works and site management Must have valid Electrical license Conversant with current variation supplies. Ability to switch current supplies to different outputs in both Single & 3 Phase I.e. US 110v 60Hz to 220v 50Hz or vice versa. Ability to review bid documents pertaining to Electrical work. We have a position for a trainee radio technician and the candidate must be in possession of a minimum qualification of N2 in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation. The area of work will be at a mine and so candidates with previous mining experience will have an advantage.
