WE ARE LOOKING FOR: • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in maintenance on a production plant, ideally petrochemical; • Minimum High School certificate grade 12; • Trade papers in the electrical field; • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment; • Awareness of OSH Act, and local electrical codes and regulations; • An open-minded and positive character; • Ability to work independently and in a group; • Strong verbal and written communication skills; • Motivated self- starter who can manage projects and make decisions; • Ability to read schematics, drawings and other technical documents; • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling etc. • Availability for standby or work within extended hours. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL: • Assemble, install, repair and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools; • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem; • Monitor and inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes; • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, to ensure compatibility and safety of system; • Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes; • Make decisions based on technical documents; • Perform quality testing.
