I've seen a number of ads for horses for sale that state: "Difficult to catch." or "Comes if you have food." Once a new comer to the barn I ride at, stated she would go on an out ride with me provided she can catch her horse and I was like, but why? It didn't make sense to me. To me catching a horse is such an easy thing to do, yet many people seem to struggle with it. So I'd like to offer to help anyone having trouble catching their horse. Either in the form of a clinic, to reach as many people possible or as a one on one lesson. Cost will remain the same. Port Elizabeth area, approximately R200, depending on exact location. Further away will cost more. Note, I'm not talking about wild, untamed or untrained horses. This is for horses that are ridable, yet still difficult to get hold of. We have lush grazing pastures, two field shelters, a round arena and a flat working area. Natural horse-keeping, no shoes, rugs or stables, and the horses live in a herd. Supervision on the farm. Suit retired horses, or youngsters coming on, but there are also outrides available in the Jonkerhoek Nature Reserve. Family friendly smallholding in the Jonkershoek Valley. Currently we have only one lonely mare! Rate is R1 600 per horse, with a discount for more than one horse. Feed if required is provided by the owner (we do the labour 6 days a week) and if we feed Tef then we divide it pro rata

Rare and collectible dated to 1835. No name. This saddle has two and a half pommels. Size measured from cantle to front of fixed head, 21” (53cm), width of seat at widest point, 15” (38 cm). I had the complete underneath refurbished but left the top original, therefore there is an area that needs restitching and a tear in the seat that has always been there, I ride with a sheepskin cover. There is also a small scuffed area on the leaping head. Very comfortable to ride in. Fully fitted. No safety stirrup bar so it is used with a break-away side saddle stirrup. Lots of history with this saddle which can be traced back to the Mills circus family. Fits wide horses. Has been used on a Percheron.
