Position Name - General Foreman Reports To Site Agent Key Responsibilities / Key Performance Areas § Forward Planning o Ensure that tasks for Section Leaders, Operators, Artisans, Semi-Skilled and Labour are planned in advance § Communicate the above objectives to all personnel o Ensure that the correct materials, shutters, scaffolding, plant, small tools, etc. are available before and during the execution of the task o Ensure that all transport arrangements are in place for materials, labour, plant and small tools § Construction Supervision o The Foreman must act as a leader to his teams o The Foreman takes huge responsibility for the costs and the administration thereof (See Company Administration procedures for further elaboration)Visit individual teams throughout the day and check all aspects of the worksEnsure the teams are working and productive duringthe official working hours (especially start in morning, tea, lunch and knock off)Ensure the teams are gainfully employed i.e. working according to program and plan,dentify any items for additional payment, such as; dayworks, boulders, rock, intermediate undercut etc. that cannot be measured off plan and record. Immediately bring this to the Site Agent’s attention so that it can be agreed with the RE.place to quickly move associated plant and labour to be gainfully employed,Do not allow standing time,Monitor progress throughout the day to ensure that the daily targets will be met.Assist sub-ordinates to achieve their goals,Quality, Test (control testing) work at specified intervals, record and file. Notify RE / Site Agent for acceptance testing,Enter into dialogue with the Health & Safety Officer, ensure the environment is safe and complete requisite administration in consultation with the Site Agent and the Health & Safety Officer.Develop on site skills o Identify potential candidates for development § Drive through site, check security and go over the days plan again. Greet labour § Ensure all operators, Section leaders, artisans and § Depending on the situation o Materials from yard are delivered so that production teams are fully operational. § Ensure each team is fully operational and that the first hour in production is a good indication and proportional to the daily target.
