Currently hot water in the home Gas geyser Electric geyser Solar geyser Cost of installing one of these systems is approx R10k and that is considered cheap. Gas will give you on demand hot water provided you have lpg equipment costs to collect from gas company etc. Electric hot water heats a tank and uses a lot of electricity especially when the tank is cold and the municipality switches them off between 5pm and 7 to 9pm depending summer or winter to save energy at peak time. Solar expensive to start and reliant on the sun to heat up. Have to clean pipes once a year to ensure optimum heat.
