An opportunity exists for a Maintenance Technician with an automotive client in Uitenhage. - Install, repair and maintain all equipment and facilities - Analyse mechanical, electrical and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality - Try out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime - Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set-up and preventive maintenance records - Review production schedule and, when equipment is not scheduled for production, perform scheduled maintenance - Participate in Production System Efficiency and Quality System Efficiency workshops to support continuous improvement: propose and implement continuous productivity, process and quality improvement actions for all facilities - Facilitate equipment moves on the shop floor - Give advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities, making sure manufacturing, maintainability and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met - Set up requisitions for supplies, equipment and facilities - Participate in the management of the inventory of spare parts and consumables to eliminate downtime - Keep maintenance documentation up to date - Perform root cause analysis on equipment breakdowns   Requirements: - National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering -  At least 5 years maintenance/engineering experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment   Job Reference #: PE004318/CT

Role and Responsibilities Technical Must ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases. Monitor the time, cost and quality of work undertaken. Ensure all works comply with the appropriate professional and technical standards (SANS, NBR, Constructions Regulations etc.) To assist in the programming of M & E related projects and programming of projects for multi-disciplined design teams. To ensure compliance with EDGE or similar in terms of environmental efficiency and all matters pertaining to the energy efficiency of buildings. Carry out MEP condition surveys Plans, implements and administers a preventative maintenance program to provide maximum life to facilities and reliability necessary to support Trueprop’s mission Provides regular verbal/written reports to the NFM/PM Qualifications and Education Requirements Diploma in mechanical and/or electrical related environment or equivalent. Good level of literacy and numerical skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in the presentation of data/information. Experience of managing MEP project related costs and understanding of budgetary control and records. Ability to manage day to day work and prioritising workload, with supervision where priorities can change on a frequent basis. Ability to work as a proactive and supportive member of a team.
