A company in the steel industry is looking for a Welding inspector to join their team in Rustenburg Must have experience in the following: Welding Inspection: Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) to inspect welds and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API, ISO). Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, including weld maps, visual inspection records, and test results. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date for client or regulatory review. Welding Procedures: Review and approve welding procedures, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and procedures qualification records (PQR) to ensure compliance with industry codes. NDT Methods: Utilize various NDT techniques (e.g., Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT)) to evaluate weld quality and detect any defects. Monitoring & Supervision: Monitor welding activities on-site or in the workshop, ensuring that welding operations are carried out according to project specifications, industry codes, and safety standards. Defect Identification & Reporting: Identify and report welding defects, including cracks, porosity, undercuts, and other common welding defects. Recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Quality Control: Ensure that the welding team adheres to the quality standards and conducts work to the highest safety and quality standards. Welder Qualification: Assess and verify the qualifications of welders by performing visual inspections and witnessing weld tests. Training & Mentoring: Provide training and guidance to junior welding inspectors, welders, and fabrication personnel, sharing knowledge on welding standards and best practices. Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies at all stages of the welding process. Troubleshooting: Work closely with the engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve any welding-related issues or concerns during construction or manufacturing processes.
