Hardcover published by Purnell, copyright date 1971. The jacket is whole, with only minor wear to the edges in places, and some rubbing on the faces. The boards are clean and square. The name of a previous owner is written in pen on the inside front board. All pages are otherwise in an almost as-new condition.

First Edition, First Printing in this Series, THE BODLEY HEAD LTD, London. 1967. The Bodley Head Henry James, Volume 1: (The Europeans, Washington Square) and Volume 2: (The Awkward Age). Volume 1 & 2 in Hardback. Book Condition: Good. Blue/turquoise "Faux" cloth Boards, very clean slightly bumped on tail end, gilt title, author, publisher stamped to spine, No inscriptions, both volumes exceptionally clean, except for volume 1 which has finger marks on pages 8 & 9. Dust jackets are intact on both volumes, except for minor chips and tears, due to Dust wrappers being made of unprotected paper, they are both stained, with browning to the spines. Both the two 1967 first impressions in this first edition publishing are in excellent condition. Neither volume is Price Clipped.

Clean white unmarked pages, edge wear to dustjacket with minor chipping to top and bottom of spine, otherwise a very good clean copy of the scarce first edition with black/charcoal cloth. Foreword by the then Administrator of the Orange Free State, and later President of the Republic of South Africa, Jim Fouche. Signed by Jim Fouche on the half-title page. De luxe copy bound in green leather and limited to an unknown number of copies of which this is # 146. Book contains over a 154 black & white photos of the early days in the Orange Free State. Contents clean with mild age associated edge wear along the leather boards. Text is in both Afrikaans & English. Gedenkalbum van die Oranje Vrystaat.

 Hardcover, first published 1963 by Hutchinson. The card jacket is whole, but has some wear to the edges, and a few small holes and scrapes on the folds, possibly caused by insects. The brown boards with three blue wildebeest imprinted on the bottom are clean and unmarked and square. The first and last few pages have some light age-spottting, that also appears in places on the collective edge of the pages. The author has dedicated and signed the title page, at Knysna, undated. From the jacket blurb "First and foremost, The Echoing Cliffs is an enchanting story.  Published by The Lovedale Press, 1939, assumed first edition, softcover. The orange faux-leather wraps are creased in places, and rubbed and worn, with a small internal tear that has gone through the front wrap, and affected the first few pages to diminishing extent. The corners of the back wrap have been folded at some point and are therefore creased. There are three small brown marks on the wraps. The pages are lightly worn, but are clean and undamaged, and the binding is still good. This booklet is a collection of some of the author's experiences of African superstition during his time as Medical Superintendent, Victoria Hospital, Lovedale.
