Arpa unit’s are close to the dam with beautiful views off the dam and mountains. BirdLife is fantastic. warm water is supplied by a donkey boiler. There is no electricity and the lights are generated from solar energy The units have a small gas fridge and a gas stove and plenty of wood for campfires, but bring charcoal for braais. You will need to bring your own bedding and it is always cooler at night and bitterly cold in winter. There is fireplace for cold winter nights. The dam is a great stop for fishing as there is plenty carp and a great three kilometre hike along the river or a hike along the koppie for the best view of the surrounding land and hills. Bring your binoculars as there are plenty of birdwatching opportunities.
