For a secluded experience in a magical forest, spend some time at Narina Bush Camp at the foot of the Zuurberg Mountains and on the banks of the Wit River. Visitors can access the bush camp – situated 25 km (about a 45 minute drive) away from the Addo Rest Camp on gravel roads – by car, hiking trail or horse trail. For a horse trail, bookings must be made with the Addo Game Drive Office. Guests should arrive at least two hours before sunset as there is no electricity in the camp. The camp is accessed by crossing a river bridge and walking about 500m through the forest. Please bring your own torch. Four tents with beds provide accommodation for eight people with a camp kitchen (gas fridge and gas stove), hot water shower (paraffin-powered) and flush toilet. Bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are provided. There is no electricity and lights in the camp are solar-powered. Please note that Narina Bush Camp is not situated in the Big Five area of the park and no large wildlife species occur here. Narina offers a tranquil getaway in a forest rich with birdlife. The Big Tusker Bush Camp is located in Marloth Park and it shares the Crocodile River border with the Kruger National Park. There are many species of game and birds which can be found within the park. We are 25 km from Malelane and 20 km from Komatiepoort and the Crocodile Bridge gate. The property is not fenced which allows many animals to roam through the camp. Lions, buffalo and rhino are fenced in an enormous tract of bush called Lionspruit, which is within Marloth Park. During the day, you are allowed to walk or cycle through the park. The Big Tuskers Bush Camp is designed for physically disabled guests to enjoy the bush. We can accommodate eight guests, two per chalet. Children under five years of age stay free if sharing the chalet with their parents. Each chalet has its own bathroom, fridge, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. The kitchen is shared by all of the chalets and it is fully equipped. There is a braai area and the chalets are serviced on request. The cleaning lady charges R50 on weekdays and R75 on weekends. Nestled on the banks of the mighty Orange River, Fiddlers Creek campsite is an oasis ideally situated for travellers from both South Africa and Namibia, and is a base for Orange River rafting trips and 4x4 excursions into the Richtersveld. With 200 metres of waterfront on the river and fourteen grassed campsites, Fiddlers Creek is in essence a bush camp equipped with modern facilities. Each site features an undercover kitchen, basins with running water, counter tops, lights and power points, and a built-in barbecue area. Some of the larger sites also have large tables and benches as a permanent fixture under the roofed area. We all appreciate privacy when we camp, so with that in mind, almost all the sites have been enclosed with a reed fence.
