We are a SMME that operates in the manufacturing industry, located in Port Elizabeth.We are looking for industrial machinists to join our expanding company. Job Type: contract (permanent opportunity available) Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 till 16:30 *You may be required to work later during our busy period Responsibilities Repairing PVC and canvas product Manufacturing products alongside a cutter Cleaning sewing machine Ensuring workstation is clean Ensuring products are manufactured according to job cards Requirements: 2-3 years of experience as an industrial machinist Positive attitude Loyal and hardworking Punctual Matric certificate Clear criminal record Ability to work under pressure Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans Excellent communication skills Willing to go the extra mile Available to start immediately Please send your CV and relevant documents before the 17th of January 2020. Measure and cut fabric to the required dimensions. Sew, hem, and stitch curtains using industrial or domestic sewing machines. Create pleats, ruffles, and other decorative elements. Adjust curtain lengths, widths, or designs based on client specifications. Add linings, blackout layers, or embellishments like trims and tassels. Repair damaged curtains, including fixing tears and replacing hooks or rings. Take accurate window measurements for custom curtain fittings. Advise clients on fabric choices, styles, and functionality. Collaborate with interior designers or customers to match décor themes. Ensure precise stitching and finishing for a professional look. Press and package curtains for delivery or installation. Inspect final products for defects before handing them over to clients. Maintain sewing machines and tools for smooth operation. Keep track of fabric stock and order materials when needed. Stay updated on new sewing techniques and industry trends.
