In her final days in office she compiled the explosive State Capture report and, before that, the report on President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla residence. Praised and vilified in equal measures, Madonsela has frequently found herself at centre stage in the increasingly fractious South African political scene. Yet, despite the intense media scrutiny, Madonsela remains something of an enigma. Who is this soft-spoken woman who stood up to state corruption? Where did she develop her views and resolve? This book attempts to answer these questions, and others, by exploring many aspects of Madonsela's life: her childhood years and family, her involvement in student politics, her contribution to the constitution, her life in law. Madonsela once described her role as Public Protector as being akin to that of the Venda traditional spiritual female leader, the Makhadzi, who whispers truth to the ruler. When the sounds of the exchanges between the ruler and the Makhadzi grow loud, Madonsela said, that is when the whispering has failed. No Longer Whispering to Power is about Thuli Madonsela's tenure as Public Protector, during which the whisper grew into a cry. It is the story of the South African people's attempt to hold power to account through the Office of the Public Protector. More significantly, this important book stands as a record of the crucial work Madonsela has done, always acting without fear or favour. Andrew's Brain by E. L Doctorow (Paperback) This brilliant new novel by an American master, the author of Ragtime, The Book of Daniel, Billy Bathgate, and The March, takes us on a radical trip into the mind of a man who, more than once in his life, has been an inadvertent agent of disaster. Speaking from an unknown place and to an unknown interlocutor, Andrew is thinking, Andrew is talking, Andrew is telling the story of his life, his loves, and the tragedies that have led him to this place and point in time. And as he confesses, peeling back the layers of his strange story, we are led to question what we know about truth and memory, brain and mind, personality and fate, about one another and ourselves. Written with psychological depth and great lyrical precision, this suspenseful and groundbreaking novel delivers a voice for our times-funny, probing, skeptical, mischievous, profound. Andrew's Brain is a surprising turn and a singular achievement in the canon of a writer whose prose has the power to create its own landscape, and whose great topic, in the words of Don DeLillo, is the reach of American possibility, in which plain lives take on the cadences of history.

Fantastic Four Issue # 56 CONDT GOOD - Nov '66 • Fourth appearance of Black Panther (T'Challa). ––––––––––... • "Klaw, the Murderous Master of Sound!" – While Reed and Ben test out a device that allows Reed to monitor the Negative Zone from the safety of his own lab, they are attacked by the newly powered Ulysses Klaw, who has come for revenge against the Fantastic Four for defeating him in Wakanda. While in the hidden land, the latest attempt to break through the barrier around their land has failed leaving Black Bolt unconscious. Back in New York, after knocking out Ben and Reed, Klaw attacks Sue, telling her how he had gotten his powers from entering into his solid sound machine. However, Reed and Ben arrive to fight Klaw back. During the fight Klaw places a sonic barrier around the Baxter Building preventing anyone from getting in or out. While elsewhere, Johnny and Wyatt travel the myriad dimensions with Lockjaw in hopes that the beast will eventually transport them beyond the barrier around the Hidden Land. Back in the States, a missile from Wakanda flies into the Baxter Building, piercing the barrier. Inside, Reed removes the Vibranium bands which he had radioed the Black Panther to send to him. Reed then uses them to beat Klaw into submission. After the battle Reed radios T'Challa to thank him for helping them out. While elsewhere, a shadowed figure takes particular interest in the Silver Surfer. –––––––––– NOTE: Klaw was transformed into a being of living sound after diving into a sound converter device at the end of Fantastic Four #53. NOTE: Black Bolt was injured trying to destroy the Negative Zone barrier around Attilan with a Absoreba-Bomb in Fantastic Four #54. NOTE: After this story, Klaw is pulled forward through time to battle the Defenders as seen in Defenders (vol. 2) #10, after his defeat there he is returned to his own time with no apparent memories of his time in the future. NOTE: After helping the Fantastic Four here, the Black Panther makes his next appearance in Fantastic Four #60, where he provides advisement to the Fantastic Four during their battle with Doctor Doom. NOTE: The man observing the Silver Surfer is Doctor Doom, in Fantastic Four #57 through 60 manages to steal the Surfer's Power Cosmic for his own use.

On March 21, 1985, world-class wheelchair marathoner and multiple Paralympic medalist Rick Hansen set out from Vancouver, British Columbia, on his Man in Motion World Tour. The twenty-six-month trek took him and a small but determined crew almost 25,000 miles through 34 countries on four continents before crossing Canada. In the process, they raised $26 million for spinal cord research and for initiatives to improve the quality of life and accessibility for people with disabilities. Thirty years after the journey ended, Rick Hansen's Man in Motion Tour celebrates that ground-breaking accomplishment and, with a foreword from Rick himself, highlights the legacy of the Man in Motion World Tour and the amazing progress it has spurred up to the present day. Illustrated with exclusive photographs from the Rick Hansen Foundation archives, it is a universal story of courage and adversity, human strength and personal suffering, and, above all, the power of community to effect lasting social change.
