Scarce, shows a bit of age and usage related wear and tear, but still a lovely collector's item. The oval base plate measures about 16cm x 12cm, and the height (including finial) about 14,7cm. Looks like the side knobs have been strengthened (on the inside), but not visible on outside. Also looks like there was an attempt to fit feet on the bottom, but also not visible unless caddy is turned upside down. Not cleaned, left it as found. Antique Sparton 557 "Sled" radio. On offer is this original Art Deco masterpiece from the 1930's. Radio is not working with the power and connecting cords cut. The cabinet is in original condition with normal ageing and scuff marks. On the front left there is a small chip in the wood. Mirroring and panels are original and show signs of aging. There is a chip on the left back corner of the glass. Chrome fins are original and in good condition. Except for the 3 knobs, the speaker and all other components seems to be original. This is an opportunity for the enthusiast or collector to aquire this iconic radio of which there are not many left in the world. Price was R55 000, now R 30 000, or make me an offer.
