PET ALPACAS IN SUTHERLAND

Several really tame alpacas for sale as pets. We love our alpacas a lot, but they are getting too many now and we sadly need to sell a few. They need the company of another alpca otherwise they get depressed and unhealthy. Therefore we sell them as pairs of 2. Not for breeding. We offer a pair of 2 neutered males for R 8000. Our alpacas are gentle and tame. They can walk on a halter, they only spit when in danger. Now, during the drought, we allow them to graze on our lawn, but they need to be let out once a day for a couple of hours to get adequate exercise. Please do not buy alpacas if you are not willing to have them sheared once a year at the beginning of summer. They need their toe nails clipped, their teeth filed - almost similar amount of treatment as horses. They need vaccination, de-worming and a wakeful eye to watch over their general wel being. Please do not buy alpacas if you are not at least willing to learn how to take proper care of them. Alpacas have personality, they interact with people, they can feel stress, happiness, playfulness, jealousy, and a lot of other human like emotions. Our alpacas serve as a tourist attraction on our guest farm Blesfontein, near Sutherland. They are social animals who entertain visitors with their funny faces and ways. Since recently, we started a new venture: Alpaca Trekking. We allow families to take alpacas on a picnic.
