NETWORK ENGINEER IN EAST LONDON

The position for a Network Engineer is available within Xerox Eastern Cape. Certain qualities and skills required for the position: A Network Engineer is an IT professional responsible for analysing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. Network Engineer Job Responsibilities: Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS) Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team Establishes and maintains network performance. Builds net configurations and connections. Troubleshoots network problems. IP address auditing. Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration and directing system installation. Defines, documents, and enforces system standards. Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades. Configures router and switches Update’s data servers and network equipment. Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
