Lavender Farm Cottage is a delightful wood-and-straw cobhouse chalet that is the home of Wynand and Choppie Kotzè, owners of the Swellendam Lavender Farm. Your first impression on arrival will be a perfumed lake of blue. With the Langeberg mountain range as a backdrop and the Bontebok Nature Reserve as a boundary, the entrance to the farm has a display of farm implements from days of yore, which combine to provide the perfect props for a theatrical bouquet of herbs. Accommodation is offered in a comfortable guest room with bathroom facilities that is part of the main house. The room contains a double bed, and self-catering facilities arealso available. The main house is unique in that the outside walls are 750 cm thick, padded on the inside with bales of straw. The property borders on the Bontebok Nature Reserve, and the house features a wooden deck which overlooks the reserve and offers a beautiful view of the majestic mountains. We have a lot of gifts and sell fresh cut lavender bunches to the fresh market.
